How I Got Cloth Diapering To Work For Me!

Prior to having Baby Cheese I spent a large amount of time wondering what kind of diaper I should use. I read about cloth and it sounded ideal. I researched the products out there and discovered "All In Ones" cloth diapers that are cute and grow with your child. Heck, if you save them you can use them for Cheese #2 or 3 or 4!

Here is my "realistic" take on cloth diapering.

After becoming a "new" Mom, I was pretty overwhelmed. I had a few packs of the disposables so I used them until they ran out. I was scared to use cloth, as I envisioned the massive amount of work they would entail. Was afraid they would leak, smell etc.

I started using cloth and found it to be easy enough, but at 1.5-2 months in I was still stressed and overwhelmed as a new Mom. One day, I forgot to turn off the stove and our house smelled terrible!! I used disposables for the 2 weeks following that incident. I then resumed cloth and got into my "routine".

It's safe to say that now, Baby Cheese and I both prefer cloth!!! Hands down! They haven't leaked yet, are softer, more comfy and look cuter.

How did I get this to be more manageable? Simple

1. After each change I place the cloth dipe in a pail. At the end of the day I spray them all down w/the sprayer.

2. Every other day I wash them.

I always have a supply of clean diapers, ready to use and they are already paid for!

Do you cloth diaper? Have any tips? Feel free to comment here with your experiences!

Hi Elle,

I am so glad it is working for you. We use the same dipes as you know. I don't even spray them down right now because it's still mostly liquid. I just run it in a hot washer. they come out clean and smellin good.
